Ettifos, a leading innovator in next-generation V2X technology, has been chosen for South Korea’s highly regarded 2025 ‘Super Gap Startup 1000+ Project’.
Facilitated by the country’s Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the program aims to support high-potential startups in key future industries such as system semiconductors, smart mobility, AI, and big data—all of which are expected to drive global market leadership—with the goal of helping them become a key player in their respective field.
Ettifos was selected for its exceptional expertise in system semiconductors and its potential for international growth. The company will receive up to USD 400,000 in commercialization funding, along with access to global investment networks, opportunities for technology development, and potential collaborations with major corporations.
Having successfully developed the world’s first 5G-V2X solution, Ettifos has become a pioneer in V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) technology.
Since it was founded in 2022, the company has challenged the dominance of global competitors in the V2X modem market, and has attracted considerable industry attention through the development of its Software Defined Modem (SDM) solution.
Implementing the C-V2X standard adopted by China, the U.S., and Korea, the SDM allows for seamless upgrades from the current LTE-V2X standard to the latest 5G-V2X standard through simple software updates, eliminating the need for hardware replacement as the technology evolves.
In recognition of its technological prowess and business potential, the company secured USD 6 million in Series A funding in April 2024, and is currently in the process of raising Series B funding.
The company plans to release a semiconductor chipset based on its SDM technology in the third quarter of 2025.
Hojun Kim, CEO of Ettifos, commented: “Being selected for this program is a strong validation of Ettifos' technological capabilities and growth potential. As the strategic importance of semiconductors continues to grow in today’s geopolitical climate, we are committed to advancing Korea’s fabless semiconductor industry. We look forward to introducing our V2X chipsets to the global market and strengthening Korea’s position as a leader in automotive communication technologies.”
