Ettifos Selected as 2024 ‘First Penguin’ by South Korea’s KODIT

Ettifos, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) solutions provider, has been selected as the 2024 ‘First Penguin’ through South Korea’s KODIT innovation startup support program.

The First Penguin program aims to support companies taking bold, pioneering steps within their industry, demonstrating strong growth potential through excellence in technology and innovation.

As part of the initiative, Ettifos will receive tailored support, including financial and non-financial services, to enhance its competitiveness and accelerate its journey to becoming a leader within the global V2X field.

The company has been making significant strides in implementing the globally recognized C-V2X (Cellular-V2X) standard using its Software Defined Modem (SDM) technology which enables its solutions to be software upgradable as V2X communication standards evolve.

Ettifos has garnered global attention for this innovation, and successfully demonstrated its 5G-V2X solution at the 5G Automotive Association’s technology showcase in Berlin in October 2024. The event featured collaborations with European automotive giants such as BMW and Audi, and tier 1 supplier Bosch

Commenting on the achievement, Ettifos CEO, Hojun Kim, said: “We are very pleased to have our technology and business potential recognized through the rigorous selection process. We are grateful to KODIT for selecting us, and we will use the additional support to accelerate the development of key technologies for autonomous driving and smart transportation systems, solidifying our position as a leader in the global technology market.

A KODIT official added: “Ettifos possesses innovative technology essential for the next generation of mobility and smart infrastructure, and is establishing a leading position in the global market. This selection as a First Penguin company recognizes Ettifos’ technological strength and growth potential.

In November 2024, Ettifos established a U.S. branch in San Jose, California, to enhance current and prospective international partnerships across the connected mobility space.
